Mini Meadows Farm is our lovely children’s farm park set in 12 acres of rolling countryside on the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire border.

Come and meet our cute, not quite so cute, large and small farm animals. Learn what they eat using our colour-coded feed buckets, stroke the guinea pigs and rabbits, and if you’re lucky you may even see a chick hatching!

Go exploring on our reservoir walk, build sandcastles in our huge indoor sandpit, and have fun on our fantastic indoor and outdoor wooden play areas.

Our cafe’s coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches are delicious, and we also have picnic areas and lots of space to run off some energy. It’s a great value day out for adults and children alike, whatever the weather.

Take a look at our events page to see what’s coming up. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Animals move indoors/undercover for winter
December is here and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! All of our animals have been moved either indoors or under cover during these winter months to make sure they’re nice and snuggly, which is good news for you too as you don’t even need to get your boots muddy when you come to meet them. We are closing for a few days over the festive period, but not for long – from 3pm on Christmas Eve, all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. Normal opening hours from January 2nd 2019. Thank you for your support in 2018 – we really do appreciate it.

It includes climbing walls and rope bridges, huge slides, tunnels and funky lighting, and there’s even a separate area for toddlers – small enough for little legs but still just as fun. SUMMER FOREST SCHOOL
Monday 5th, 12th & 19th August (10.30 – 12.00
)
OR
Tuesday 6th, 13th, & 20th August (10.30 – 12.00)

Join us at Mini Meadows Farm during August for our three-week Summer Holiday Forest School. Let your imagination run with our activities based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar story – go on a food treasure hunt, help make the big bug hotel, go bug hunting and get crafty making a caterpillar or butterfly. Get creative with activities based on The Stick Man story – make stick people and animals, and even build little houses for them using what you can find around the farm! Other activities will include making pom poms, cloth printing, making small boats to race on the water, bubble wands, pebble painting and shadow drawing, plus of course getting messy with some squelchy mud.

Although the sessions are planned, they are child led and therefore subject to change as the children develop the activities themselves. It is strongly encouraged that adults join in with their children to get the most out of the sessions. All sessions will end with a snack for the children and a story either around the campfire or in our forest school bell tent.

The sessions start at 10.30am and will last approximately 1hr30m, suitable for children aged 2-5 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Under-twos are welcome to come along free of charge, but please note the activities will be aimed at pre-school children who will need their adult to join in with them.

Tickets are £30 per child (over two years) and £15 per adult (season ticket holder adults free), and includes all three sessions on your chosen day (either Mondays or Tuesdays), plus entry to the farm park and Treetops indoor play area on the days you are at the farm for Forest School.

The session will be run by a DBS checked qualified primary school teacher with level 3 forest school leader qualification and experience, current outdoor first aid, paediatric first aid and first aid at work certificates.

Pre-booking is essential – buy your tickets here!

News

Our tractor racing circuit is in full swing for the next month, until the 20th September when the big build will start for our huge indoor play area. This is not going to be some awful plastic ball pit but an amazing chunky wooden structure with dens, climbing ropes and places to hide. Fingers crossed it will be open by the end of October.
